WhatRumors is a pretty cool site, and we love our users. We want to show everyone that contributes to the site how special they are and we are going to do that by giving out prizes to people that edit, upload images and create new content frequently. We have a point system in place currently that gives users points for making changes to the wiki. Page edits, new images, voting and commenting all add points to your user profile. We are adding more features every month and most of the features have something to do with the point system. Every month we are going to take a look at everyone's points for the month and give out prizes to the top contributors. This means the more content that you edit and create, the more points you will earn and the more prizes that you can end up wining. We are not talking about some lame prizes either, but really cool stuff.

Prizes for Referring Friends

We are also giving away prizes over the next two months for people that refer their friends to whatrumors. You can learn more by visiting the Invite a Friend Page, but what it boils down to is that we will see who has had the most new user referrals to the site, and award prizes to them.

Prizes for Popular Content

Making lots of updates will boost your point score on whatrumors for sure, but we also want to reward users that create and update quality content that gets noticed. That is why we are also starting to give away monthly bonus points. We have a system that calculates the top 50 pages on whatrumors. We then look at who has made updates to the pages, look at what outside websites link in to those pages and then divvy up points to all of the people who worked on the page and award them points. The chance to gain big points is huge during the bonus period with the chance for thousands of points to be awarded. You can increase your bonus by doing the following:

• Create awesome pages that are interesting and have good images.
• Go out and link to the pages from all kinds of forums and social networking sites.
• Blog about your entries and link to the wiki pages.
• Get the word out about WhatRumors and the content that you have worked on.
