Tom proposed to actress Katie Holmes atop the Eiffel Tower, June 2005. Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise on November 18th, 2006. At the wedding, which cost roughly $3,000,000, the bride wore an off-the-shoulder Armani gown. The train was in ivory silk cadis adorned in Valenciennes lace and Swarovski beaded crystal embroidery. The wedding ring was a white gold Cartier with diamonds. Go-karts and motocross bikes were provided to entertain the younger guests, while Andrea Bocelli serenaded the newlyweds and guests.
As a wedding gift Katie gave Tom a Vacheron Constantin watch engraved "I Love You." She bought it in Los Angeles just a week before the wedding. For her wedding night, Katie spent $1,200 on a lace La Perla ensemble with Swarovski crystals sewn onto the straps.

Tom & Katie hosted a post-wedding party in early December, 2006, for friends unable to attend the wedding ceremony in November. The party - estimated to have cost $400,000 - was held at the home of Tom’s producing partner Paula Wagner, and her husband, Rick Nicita. Steven Spielberg, Oliver Stone, Orlando Bloom, James Van Der Beek, Diane Sawyer, Larry King and Tom's ex Penelope Cruz were among the guests, as well as Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony who also attended the wedding in Rome. Oprah Winfrey was left off the guest list again - while John Travolta - who was invited to the wedding but failed to attend - was not seen at the party either.
