Personal Life

Wentz grew up in Wilmette, a Chicagoland suburb. He was an All-State soccer player in high school. He attended DePaul University in Chicago, but dropped out to pursue his musical interests.

Suicide Attempt

Pete Wentz briefly became too emo for his own good and attempted suicide by overdosing on anxiety medication. He spent a week in the hospital and, soon thereafter, moved back in with his parents. In true emo form he followed up with a song about his experience entitled "7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen)"

Nude Pictures Leaked

In March 2006, a post was made to Livejournal gossip community Oh No They Didn't containing nude pictures taken on Wentz's sidekick. Allegedly, the pictures had been originally taken for a woman that he was romantically interested in and the poster was a friend-of-a-friend to the original recipient.

Relationship with Ashlee Simpson

Most recently, Pete has been seen getting close to Ashlee Simpson, a musician even more untalented than he is. The couple have announced their engagement and that Ashlee is pregnant.

Career

Wentz got his start in the late-90's Chicago-area hardcore scene, performing with many different bands. Fall Out Boy, a pop-punk group, ended up being the one he stuck with. Fall Out Boy came to prominence in 2005, with the release of their third album, From Under the Cork Tree. Wentz has written two books: The Boy With the Thorn In His Side and Rainy Day Kids. Wentz clearly has his sights set on complete world domination as he has also lent his name to a signature bass guitar, opened his own bar, and appeared on the TV show One Tree Hill.
