Lauren Conrad, known as L.C. to fans who got addicted to her life while watching Laguna Beach: The Real O.C., has gone from reality tv show co-star to MTV reality darling. In just a few years she has managed to graduate high school, move to Los Angeles, intern for Teen Vogue, travel to Paris, attend fashion design school, launched a fashion line, dated the skankiest men in reality television history, and fought with her former best friend Heidi Montag. She did it all with the cameras rolling.

Relationships
Lauren's relationships have made the tabloids since the cameras started rolling in 2005. Her first big relationship was with her Laguna Beach boyfriend Jason Wahler. The two dated off and on after Lauren moved to Los Angeles but it wasn't meant to be. Jason's drug addiction and bad boy behavior became too overwhelming. While he checked into rehab and jail, Lauren ended things for good. She debating trying to rekindle their relationship in 2007 but was shocked when Jason announced he was engaged. Both have denied a rumored sex tape.
She then began dating reality tv veteran, stepbrother of Kim Kardashian, and "bromance" enthusiast Brody Jenner. The two dated throughout 2006 and their relationship played out in front of the MTV cameras. The fact that he was best friends with Spencer Pratt caused even more problems though the two flirted with reuniting in 2007. They remain friends and support each other in the press.
She has been linked to former boyfriends Stephen Colletti and minor league baseball player Doug Reinhardt in 2008. Her relationship with Reinhardt began then ended just as quickly. Unfortunately for Lauren, reality tv films months in advance and their brief relationship is now a part of the 4th season of The Hills.
Career
Lauren's career in reality tv began slowly. During her senior year of high school in 2004, MTV was looking to capitalize off the success of the Fox drama The O.C.. The "loosely scripted reality drama" followed the lives of a group of teens living in Laguna Beach. While MTV marketed their "it girl" Kristin Cavallari in the media, it was Lauren who drew the fans in. In season 2, Laguna Beach followed Lauren's move back home from San Francisco and her love life. Dubbed L.C. by the producers of Laguna Beach, a nickname Lauren absolutely hated, she was the most popular character on the show.
The Hills
MTV recognized the cash cow they had with Lauren and decided to launch a spin-off/new show. In this one, called The Hills, Lauren moves to Los Angeles and becomes an intern with Teen Vogue while moving in with former fashion school friend Heidi Montag all while trying to keep up a relationship with then boyfriend Jason Wahler. The show was a bigger hit than Laguna Beach ever was and Lauren was still the major draw to the show.
It was during season 2 of the series that everything exploded. Lauren was dealing with her decision to not head to Paris as an intern for Teen Vogue while trying to deal with her on-again/off-again boyfriend Jason Wahler. Her relationship with her friend and roommate Heidi began to fall apart when Heidi started dating self-admitted jerk Spencer Pratt. Lauren and Heidi's relationship crumbled and evolved into a fight carried out in the media. With Heidi's boyfriend/manager Spencer Pratt only adding fuel to the fire by claiming to be the one that started the rumor about the sex tape, the feud will continue on and off camera.
The World of Fashion
Teen Vogue
Lauren's dreams of studying fashion became a reality when she moved to San Francisco to attend Academy of Art University to major in fashion design. But after only one semester, she missed her family and moved back home to Laguna Beach. Unfazed by this setback, she then moved to Los Angeles less than a year later to give her dream another try. She began taking classes at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) while snagging an internship thousands of teenage fashionistas would die for. The internship was with Teen Vogue magazine and was filmed for The Hills. Lauren was considered to be an asset to the magazine rather than someone hired to just promote what is considered the teen fashion bible. Her ego stayed in check and she worked hard to prove she deserved the coveted internship just as much as anyone else. Steaming clothes, dealing with fashion designers and models from hell, and sleeping only a few hours a night paid off. She was the first intern to ever appear on the cover of the magazine in June/July 2006 issue. She stayed with Teen Vogue until 2008 and stepped down to focus on her classes at the Fashion Institute.
Lauren Conrad Clothing Designs
After obsessing over fashion for years, working as an intern at one of the most influential magazines in the world, and appearing on the covers of magazines everywhere; Lauren decided to look into launching her own fashion line. Her first fashion line launched in September 2007. There were 10 pieces available online and at prices that fans of her show could afford. Her first runway show for "The Lauren Conrad Line" was a big part of LA Fashion Week. The line was met with evenly divided critical praise and complaints but is selling well.
Avon Calling
Lauren was named the first official spokesperson for Avon's mark line. The line, created for the younger make-up shopper, was looking for a way to better reach their target audience. The magazine will exposed Lauren to an audience that doesn't watch The Hills while Avon is able to market on the youth market that has made Lauren into the celebrity that she is.
