Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty: The Winemouse Incident
From WhatRumors: The Celebrity Gossip Wiki
In May 2008, photos hit the tabloids worldwide showing Amy Winehouse and friend Pete Doherty kissing outside her home. Feeling the need to defend his friendship with Amy while showing the world they weren't having an affair, the two made a video that was later uploaded in two parts to Pete's YouTube account.

What The World Saw
Part 1
The videos begin with Amy visiting Pete in his flat in London. When any animal manages to survive a night in Pete Doherty's flat and not become immediately addicted to crack, it's a time of celebration. Our cameraman for this journey into the life of celebrities on drugs is Pete and he begins narrating the clip in a French accent. Amy is wearing her trademark beehive with a bra falling off her shoulder and short shorts. She is playing nurse as Pete begins babbling to her in his best version of Pepe LePew french gibberish. As she's talking of taking special care of the baby mice, as a cat wandering near them might concern most people, Pete is telling her that he's here to see her wanker. Pete then zooms in on Amy's chest with the camera as she's paying attention to anyone but him. As she picks up the cat that desperately wants to get up close and personal with the mice, it meows. This shocking move by the cat, most likely just happy it's not being forced crack or being beaten to death with a shovel, gets much attention from Pete who screams about the cat speaking to him. Amy makes the cat wave to the camera and the video ends.
Part 2
The second video is shot in a room lit with a blue light that Pete refers to as "psychedelic". Amy and Pete hold up the baby mice close to the camera. Amy estimates there are about 30 mice, only a day old, in the small container she's holding up. Pete begins to sing, "It's a new dawn; it's a new day." Amy then begins singing with Pete, "This is the dawning of a new mouse life." Amy picks up one of the tiny babies and the black resin that is most likely from smoking crack that covers her fingers is a stark contrast to the white mice under the blue light. They marvel at how fragile the mice are, so young they are practically see-through, yet never once think to take their dirty fingers away from the babies. Amy and Pete each are holding a baby mouse. Amy holds her baby up and using a tiny voice, tells the camera the mouse has a message for her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

That's Pete's cue to use the baby mouse, the big brother of the mouse Amy's holding, to say something to Blake incarcerated.

This upsets Amy, as she immediately grabs the mouse from Pete and holds it back in front of the camera. These baby mice, apparently only able to use drug addicted musicians as mouthpieces, have much to say.

The Reaction
The internet reacted immediately to the videos after they were posted to Pete's YouTube page. Many expressed concern and animal rights activists worldwide were outraged. Baby mice that are as small as those in the video are very easily injured and can catch disease rapidly. The mother mouse, who we never see but assume is still alive, could end up rejecting the babies and causing the infants to starve to death. After 230 comments and low ratings, Pete removes the first part of the video from his public YouTube page and disabled comments on the second one.
