In December 2007 it was reported that Amy Winehouse entered rehab at Canadian singer Bryan Adams' Caribbean villa on the island of Mustique. Winehouse's father said that although Amy refuses to enter a traditional facility, the break at Adams' was designed to help her combat her addictions to alcohol and drugs, chronicled in her song, "Rehab."
Rehab January 2008
After scandalous photos were published of her smoking crack cocaine, Amy Winehouse finally agreed to enter rehab on January 25, 2008. She canceled appearances and entered the facility for an undetermined amount of time.
A statement was issued by her record label Universal Music Group:
"Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors. She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction."
